Microsoft’s Gaming Extravaganza: A Year of Incredible Showcases and Future Releases

2023-08-24 23:13:03

Microsoft kicked off 2023 with a developer drive, followed by a few ID@Xbox shows. Then they had a huge Xbox games showcase in June, followed by a dedicated Starfield showcase, and now they have their biggest Gamescom effort ever. It seems like something we should get used to. In an interview with IGN, Xbox boss Phil Spencer said that Microsoft reassessed their presentation strategy because they now have so many games: “All I can say is that we’re going to have more Beats to talk regarding more of the things we do because the lineup of content is so strong. Spencer went on to explain: “You’re going to see more regular talk regarding our games because the product portfolio is deep enough that we can support that. Microsoft is expected to complete the acquisition of Activision Blizzard by October, and their current upcoming titles include Avowed, Clockwork Revolution, The Elder Scrolls VI, Fable, Indiana Jones, The Outer Worlds 2, Perfect Dark, Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II , South of Midnight, State of Decay 3 and Towerborne – and that’s not even mentioning Starfield and Forza Motorsport, which came out this year. More showcases to give each title more time to shine seems like a good idea, or what do you think?
