Microsoft says three future Bethesda games will be exclusive to Xbox

Starfield, The Elder Scrolls VI and… Indiana Jones, maybe? In its response to the FTC’s lawsuit to block the deal with Activision Blizzard, Microsoft says three exclusives have already been chosen.

We knew Microsoft would make Bethesda’s Starfield exclusive to Xbox and PCand it seemed like The Elder Scrolls VI would also not be available on PlayStation and Nintendo. But today, Microsoft lawyers reveal they have their eyes set on at least one more exclusive title. They revealed today, in a response to the FTC’s lawsuit once morest the Activision Blizzard deal, that Bethesda plans three future Xbox exclusive titles.

“Xbox anticipates that three future titles – REDACTED – all designed to be played primarily alone or in small groups – will be exclusive to Xbox and PC,” reads a passage from Microsoft’s response.

Here’s the surrounding context, so you can see for yourself:

What might this third game be? Well, Bethesda is making an Indiana Jones gameand we know that Fallout 5 arrive… eventually. There is also Redfallwhich, like Starfield, has been delayed to 2023. But your guess is as good as ours.

Microsoft has been clear for years that it’s been buying up studios to bolster Xbox (and Game Pass) exclusives, so it’s no surprise, but things got heated recently when the company promised that Call of Duty would continue to appear on PlayStation — a leverage Microsoft seems to need to convince regulators to let it go ahead with the deal with Activision Blizzard.
