Today, Microsoft officially launched the Windows 11 2022 annual update (22H2) push, operating system version Build 22621.
During the media exchange, John Cable, Vice President of Windows Services and Delivery, and Aaron Woodman, General Manager of Windows Marketing Operations, also responded to topics related to Windows 10, Windows 11 and “Windows 12”.
Among them, when asked regarding Windows 12, Aaron Woodman said that he did not know there was a Windows 12 plan. It went on to point out that Microsoft’s current focus is still on continuous optimization of Windows 11, the introduction of annual updates and other functional improvements. The practice of the past 6 years has proven that the continuous delivery of feature and security updates to 1.4 billion Windows 10/Windows 11 users is successful and effective.
It is reported that Windows 11 will maintain a pace of annual updates, and will be launched in the second half of each year, with a support time of 24 months (36 months for enterprise users). At the same time, there will be small experience packs such as Microsoft Store and Moments released to better and faster meet the needs of users.
It is reported that the first Moments update package will be lifted on November 8. In addition, Microsoft also reiterated that support for Windows 10 will continue until October 2025.
However, don’t take it too seriously for Microsoft’s denial of Windows 12. It may be that the business name has not been finally confirmed or that it is still confidential and cannot be disclosed. After all, Microsoft personally said that Windows 10 was the last version of Windows, but as everyone knows, Windows 11 is still launched.
