March 2023 preview update available for Windows 10

On March 21 (local time), Microsoft released the March preview update program “KB5023773” for Windows 10 22H2/21H2/20H2. The update, called a “C release” without security updates, can be manually applied as an optional update.

This update fixes an issue that might cause USB printers to be incorrectly identified as multimedia devices.

Windows 10 versions 20H2 and 21H2 will no longer receive preview updates without security updates. As for monthly security updates (so-called B releases), they are still available.

On March 14th (local time), Microsoft once once more warned that Windows 10 version 21H2 service will end on June 13th.

Windows 10 21H2 is a version released in November 2021, Windows 10 has a support deadline of 18 months following its release, and the following versions will end service in June 2023.

  • Windows 10 Home/Version 21H2
  • Windows 10 Pro/Version 21H2
  • Windows 10 Pro Education/Version 21H2
  • Windows 10 Pro for Workstations/Version 21H2

Windows 10 Enterprise, Windows 10 Enterprise multi-session, Windows 10 Education, and Windows 10 IoT Enterprise have been released for 30 months, so the service will still continue.

After the end of service, you will no longer receive security updates. To continue to receive support, you’ll need to upgrade to the latest version of Windows 10 (version 22H2) or Windows 11.
