Microsoft reintroduces its “Recall” tool – Imagen Radio

Microsoft announced that starting next October it will once again offer its artificial intelligence search function called “Recall,” with which users will be able to take screenshots of what they are doing on their computer, with the aim of being able to search for that information later.

The move comes after the tool raised privacy concerns among security researchers, who last June released open-source software showing how personal information can become easily accessible to attackers.

In response, Microsoft made it clear that Recall would be disabled by default and pledged to make security improvements to the feature.

In that sense, it is important to note that the launch of this new service, which is being presented before the Christmas season, could increase consumer interest in purchasing new computers, especially those equipped to support Recall.

Additionally, Microsoft’s focus on local AI capabilities could be a big draw for customers who prefer the capabilities of this new technology without the need for continuous internet connectivity.
