PARIS, April 1 (Benin News/EP) –

Microsoft plans to launch a family subscription plan for up to five users of its cloud gaming service, Xbox Game Pass (XGP), which currently only has three individual plan types with different tariffs depending on the benefits of the service.

According to Windows Central, which has access to sources close to Microsoft, the company plans to launch a new Xbox Game Pass plan later this year that would offer access for up to five players.

This family plan would allow players to pay a lower rate than they would pay if they joined their service through an individual subscription, as is generally the case on other platforms offering this type of service.

“Thanks to Microsoft’s family account system, already used for Office 365, players from the same country will be able to play together using a single subscription”. managed by a central account holderin the same way as Netflix, ”detailed the media.

Currently, Xbox Game Pass offers three types of subscriptions. Ultimate is the most advanced version, the price of which is 10,000 euros. 12.99 per month and includes both Xbox Live Gold and Electronic Arts Play, plus other benefits of discounts and exclusive offers.

The PC model, meanwhile, only includes EA Play for a price of €9.99 per month, the same amount Xbox Game Pass console subscribers have to pay for basic benefits.

As of now, it’s unclear when that launch will take place and what the final price will be, and whether these family plans will extend to PC Game Pass.

This type of contract already exists on other services such as Nintendo Switch Online, which offers the possibility of managing a family subscription for up to eight people with… access to online multiplayer on the Nintendo Switch console.

For its part, PlayStation currently offers two services with individual plans. PlatStation Now is a monthly subscription, while PlayStation Plus offers annual, quarterly and monthly subscriptions.

However, next June, Sony plans to launch the new PlayStation Plus, which merges the two subscription services and includes three levels of play, Essential, Plus Extra and Plus Premium.
