If the idea of working at a company like Microsoft appeals to you, then you should appreciate what the brand offers: free training where YOU get paid. At first glance, it looks more than beneficial for budding developers and coders. Nothing sponsored here, just an interesting program to share with you.
Microsoft trains you for free, and pays you
A big company like Microsoft is for many developers a company to reach for, and if you fall into that category, then you should enjoy the sequel. But before we can accept new employees, Microsoft seems to want to personally ensure the training of young thumbs.
The program called LEAP aims to find the next nuggets, but in a rather unusual way. The information comes to us from @Tech4Abolition, a Twitter account of a computer engineer sharing this training with us.
Did you know MICROSOFT has a program for self-taught programmers, coding bootcamp grads, community college computer science grads and computer science grads with a 2+ year career break!
Its called Microsoft LEAP! 16 weeks, Microsoft pays YOU to learn. ????

If you go to the site, you can see all the variants of the program offered, ranging from Cloud solution, data analyst, or even cybersecurity engineer. Please note that this training is not intended for complete novices either. Microsoft appeals to self-taught coders and developers, but also to people who already have a degree in computer science. Participants join one of 4 groups: Azure, Xbox, Bing and Office 365.
The training of the American firm lasts only 16 weeks, that is regarding four months. During this period, you attend theoretical courses but also participate in concrete projects to perfect your experience in the field. Without specifying the amount, @Tech4Abolition specifies that you are paid during the training. It sounds too good to be true, but it is real.
Of course, not everyone can get paid by Microsoft so easily. To enter the program, you must first apply and then be selected. We imagine that the number of places must be ultra limited. Here is the page to try your luck. You only have from September 20 to October 5 to do so.
Microsoft training, remote or face-to-face, with why not a job at stake
Of course, if Microsoft is betting on you and allowing you to follow a program for free and paying you, it is because they hope to receive something in return. Among the lucky ones, some will have the chance to receive a job offer to join the company.
IMPORTANT UPDATE from the Microsoft website -> “Classroom is virtual, but participants will have an option to select their on-the-job training as in-person, online or hybrid.” So, it seems you can do all 16 weeks virtually if you choose. However, if you get an offer, you’ll move.

Microsoft even lets you choose where you want to participate in the program. You can travel to the USA at the Atlanta or Washington campus if you’re feeling adventurous, but you’re free to stay home and do everything remotely.
The training begins on January 17, 2023, and ends on May 5. This is a very interesting option for those who want to work on hopefully innovative projects in one of the biggest tech companies in the world.
