Microsoft no longer produces new Xbox One

The information, revealed by the American site The Verge, tells us that the Xbox One has not been in production for a year.

Make way for the new generation

Microsoft has confirmed the information, via Cindy Walker, senior manager of the console’s marketing department: “To focus on Xbox Series X / S production, we stopped production on all Xbox One consoles at the end of 2020.

At first, Microsoft wanted to stop the production of the Xbox One X, while keeping the Xbox One S All Digital a little bit longer. But the latter model has not been in production since the end of 2020.

The information is released as Sony announced that to deal with the shortage of PlayStaion 5, the company will restart production of PlayStation 4. One million PS4 will be produced in the course of the year 2022. On Microsoft’s side, the shortage only seems to affect the Xbox Series X. The other, more affordable model, the Xbox Series S, can be more easily found at the store.

The Xbox One range, launched in 2013, will therefore have been produced for 7 years.
