On June 7 (local time), Microsoft released a major update to Windows 11 scheduled for the second half of this year as a Release Preview version. However, according to The Verge, Microsoft accidentally distributed an updated version of Windows 11 to all PCs.
Many netizens on Twitter and Reddit immediately discovered Microsoft’s mistake in distributing the updated version of Windows 11, and announced that Windows 10 devices with older CPUs might be upgraded to the Windows 11 update scheduled for official distribution in the second half of the year.
Microsoft said it was aware of the error in distributing the Windows 11 update and is investigating the cause of the problem. On the Windows Insider Twitter account, a post was posted saying, “The cause of the Windows 11 deployment mistake is a bug, and Microsoft is currently investigating the specific cause of the problem.”
