Microsoft is developing a new Tabbed effect for Windows 11

Recently, someone learned that the code in the middle of the Windows 11 SDK for build 22523 shows that Microsoft is planning to develop and test a new blur effect on Windows 11. The famous developer who developed the taskbar customization application StartisBack discovered on Twitter that this effect is called Tabbed and is a complement to Acrylic and Mica.

This effect can be seen and demonstrated in a sample application of the SDK below:

We can switch to the “Tabbed” option in the light color mode to activate the Mica-like glass effect. At this time, we will find a severely blurred wallpaper. In this matter, Microsoft also provided testers with an experience (sample application) showing the impact that these APIs may have on a real application. We’ve included these for you below, although we think it’s more obvious when switching to dark mode. The effect appears to be a severely blurred version of the screencaster’s wallpaper, with no fixed hue.

Microsoft seems to be working hard to bring the Mica style to more traditional applications. The “MicaBackdropInApplicationFrameHostTitlebar” field has also appeared in the latest Insider builds. This also shows that Microsoft is also willing to bring Mica effects to more modern and traditional applications.

According to reports, Microsoft will bring the next big update to Windows 11 in the summer of 2022, so it shouldn’t be long before we see these changes roll out to ordinary users. The following is a sample of the new interface that has been leaked before: It is understood that someone has exposed his update features, which are gadgets that can slide out weather, news, and other content from the Internet. The maximize button on all applications has an alignment control function, which provides several options to align different parts or side-by-side windows. In addition, it has new built-in themes and enhanced night mode. However, every Microsoft update will be accompanied by a large number of system problems. I wonder if Microsoft is fully prepared for this major update?
