It’s been more than a year since Microsoft announced its intentions to buy Activision Blizzard and the process has been more tedious than expected; not only because of Sony’s opposition to seeing a threat to its leadership in the video game market, but also from public bodies that view the monopolistic tendency that the company has shown with a bad eye of Bill Gates in other markets.
Microsoft stated that native versions of Call of Duty Warzone y Modern Warfare II for Nintendo Switch are completely possible. With this statement, the company makes it clear that the game will not need the use of the cloud to run on the Nintendo laptop. This is because it can run on PCs with GPUs released in 2015 and the Switch engine stands out for running optimally on a wide variety of devices.

“The parties are confident that, in addition to Warzone, CoD buy-to-play titles (for example, CoD: Modern Warfare II can be optimized to run on Nintendo Switch in a timely manner using standard techniques that have been used to bring games such as Apex Legends, DOOM Eternal, Fortnite and Crysis 3 to Switch”
These statements were made by Microsoft in the context of the dispute it has with Sony for the purchase of Activision Blizzard, before the Competition and Markets Authority of the United Kingdom; body that has challenged the purchase arguing that the ports of Call of Duty to Switch will not be able to match the views on desktop consoles in terms of options, content and quality.
All these statements seek to soften the position of the agency, who are one of the biggest opponents of Microsoft successfully closing the purchase of Activision Blizzard.
