Rear Admiral José Ramón Rivera Parga, director of AICM, reported that it is possible that the failures in the airline reservation system will persist tomorrow, July 20.
In an interview with the media, Rivera Parga reported that 22 operations have been cancelled and 200 affected, with a delay of 30 minutes and up to four hours.
“The biggest impact was on flights to the United States, but we have already had cancellations to domestic destinations such as Monterrey and Mérida.”
He said that, as of the 1:00 p.m. cutoff, a total of 2,000 passengers were estimated to be affected. “The problem is that operations continue, but manually,” he said.

Microsoft glitch causes chaos on US-Mexico border
Pedestrian and vehicle traffic in San Ysidro, California, the busiest area on the US-Mexico border, is in chaos on Friday due to a global computer failure that has occurred since Thursday night.
At the pedestrian entrance to the San Ysidro border crossing, people were crowding around this morning trying to enter and cross into California, as EFE was able to confirm very early.
Users of the Rapid Inspection Electronic Traveler Inspection Network (Sentri), who generally take between 10 and 25 minutes to cross the border, waited this morning for more than three hours and a large majority were still waiting.

The Customs and Border Protection (CBP) office did not immediately respond to EFE on the matter, but some users who managed to pass from the city of Tijuana (Mexico) to San Ysidro commented that, without an electronic system, inspectors had to carry out visual inspections.
“When we pass through, they always check our irises and fingerprints with electronic systems, they confirm by computer that the person in the photo on the visa card is the one passing through, and suddenly they can’t do any of that anymore, it’s crazy,” Altagracia Campos told EFE.
