Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 hasn’t gotten off to a very good start yet. The game was released today in the afternoon of our time. There were no reviews before it and we only got to the review version during the day. There wasn’t even a larger preload available as part of Game Pass, just a relatively small data package. However, the interest in the new product from the Asobo Studio team clearly exceeded expectations and preparation. Most players try in vain to get into the game at these moments and vent their frustration in discussions and on Steam.
I haven’t had any luck yet and haven’t been able to get into the game yet to start a review. Developers on Twitter, for example they admitted problems logging into the game. Due to overloaded servers, players get stuck at the initial loading screen. For the same reason, all the planes in the hangar are not displayed correctly to those who got into the game. The authors advise patience and waiting in line.
And the whole situation is unfortunately reminiscent of the recent botched start of the Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown races. Hopefully, in this case, the correction will not take several days, as was the case with KT Racing. At the time of writing this news, the rating of the game is rapidly falling to Steam. Here it is marked as extremely negative and the title is recommended by only 18 percent of customers for the reasons described here. Naturally, many respond to this by requesting a refund.
Let’s keep our fingers crossed for the authors that the situation can be rectified as soon as possible. If everything works better tomorrow, we’d like to stream the game.

Hopefully it can be resolved here faster. The review version was not available in advance and I am still trying in vain to get into the game. pic.twitter.com/W7aorgmij6

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024: Soaring High or Crashing Down?
So, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 has hit the scene, and let’s just say it’s not exactly taking off. Released today amidst a flurry of excitement, like a kid on Christmas morning — only to find that Santa forgot to deliver the gifts. No reviews were available beforehand, making it feel a bit like dating a blind date you’ve only seen in poorly lit photos. Spoiler: it’s not great!
Now, if you were thinking that launching a highly anticipated game would come with some pre-release downloads or, at the very least, a decent server to accommodate excited players, think again! Players were greeted with a small data package instead of a solid preload on Game Pass, leading to what can only be described as an absolute cluster of frustrated gamers all trying to leap into the cockpit at the same time.
As the servers stagger under the weight of eager virtual pilots, the reception has been, shall we say, less than stellar. It’s a bit like a party where no one can get into the house — and let’s be honest, nobody wants to be left outside in the cold. Many players are stuck at the loading screen, and when they do manage to get in, the hangar looks like a bad rendition of a planes’ lost-and-found. Even the developers have taken to Twitter, admitting they’ve hit a snag. It’s not even a ‘minor inconvenience’ — it’s more like the universe sent out invites for a barbecue, and now it’s raining cats and dogs!
The situation is reminiscent of that other infamous launch issue with Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown. If history is anything to go by, it looks like players might be in for a long wait. However, we can only hope that the Asobo Studio crew manages to sort this out quicker than KT Racing did. Last I checked, the Steam rating was not just sinking — it was plummeting! A shocking 18% of customers recommending it. I mean, your game has a higher chance of being recommended by your mother-in-law than that!
In light of all this, requests for refunds are popping up faster than you can say “take me to the clouds!” It can’t be fun for the developers, either — I hope they’re not playing in the back of their office with toy planes as a way to cope. Fingers crossed for them that by the time you read this, the servers have calmed down and the planes get their act together. If all is finally well, expect to see us streaming this game because honestly, what could be better than watching a stream go down as gracefully as my last attempt to parallel park?

In conclusion, it seems like Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 has taken a nosedive right out of the gate. Will it recover? Will the pilots find their way back to the skies? Only time will tell. Until then, keep your seatbelts fastened and your expectations grounded — because this flight might just be on hold for a while!
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 has stumbled significantly since its release this afternoon. Curiously, there were no pre-launch reviews available, and access to a review version only became possible later in the day. Players were also disappointed to discover that a larger preload option was absent from Game Pass, offering only a modest data package instead. Nevertheless, the eagerness surrounding the latest offering from Asobo Studio has clearly surpassed initial expectations, leading to overwhelming demand for access. Currently, many eager players are experiencing difficulty connecting to the game, resorting to online discussions and complaints on Steam in an effort to share their frustrations.
Regrettably, I have also encountered challenges, as I have yet to gain entry into the game to initiate my review. Developers reached out via Twitter, where they acknowledged the ongoing login issues. Players are frequently getting stuck on the initial loading screen due to server overload, which has affected the display of planes in the hangar for those fortunate enough to log in. The developers are asking for patience as they work through the backlog.
Unfortunately, this launch debacle bears similarities to the troubled release of Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown. It is to be hoped that resolution of the issues this time around will not take as long as it did for KT Racing. At the time of writing, the game’s rating is dropping sharply, trending towards extremely negative reviews on Steam, with only 18 percent of users recommending the title amidst the current chaos. Many players are choosing to request refunds in response to their dissatisfaction.
Let’s collectively hope that the developers can swiftly address these challenges. If stability improves by tomorrow, we are eager to stream gameplay and showcase it to our audience.

How did the lack of pre-launch reviews affect the reception of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 among players?
**Interview with Gaming Enthusiast and Reviewer, Jiří Bigas**
**Interviewer:** Welcome, Jiří! Thanks for joining us to discuss the launch of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. It’s been quite a day, hasn’t it?
**Jiří Bigas:** Thanks for having me! Yes, it’s been pretty chaotic. It feels like the hype train derailed before anyone could board!
**Interviewer:** So, what were your expectations going into the game’s release today?
**Jiří Bigas:** I expected a solid experience, especially considering the legacy of the Flight Simulator franchise. With flights of excitement from players and no pre-launch reviews, I was hopeful that this would be a thrilling new chapter. Unfortunately, that’s not quite what we got.
**Interviewer:** It seems many players have faced significant issues trying to get into the game. Can you tell us more about that?
**Jiří Bigas:** Absolutely. The servers simply can’t handle the traffic. Most users, including myself, are getting stuck at the loading screen. It’s frustrating when you’ve been waiting for this moment! The developers have acknowledged the server overload on Twitter, suggesting players need to be patient.
**Interviewer:** They’ve also been compared to the launch issues of Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown. Do you think Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 will face a similar fate?
**Jiří Bigas:** That’s a valid concern. Hopefully, it won’t take days to resolve like it did for KT Racing. As it stands, the Steam ratings are plummeting, sitting at just 18% recommended! Many gamers are already asking for refunds. It’s not a good sign.
**Interviewer:** Given the technical difficulties, do you think the lack of pre-launch reviews impacted the player base’s reception?
**Jiří Bigas:** Definitely! Not having that crucial information led to a lot of excitement without any grounded expectations. People rushed in, only to be met with disappointment. It makes for a volatile situation when the community is so eager yet can’t access the game.
**Interviewer:** What do you hope for in the near future from the developers at Asobo Studio?
**Jiří Bigas:** I hope they can quickly rectify the server issues and enhance the gameplay experience. It’s important for them to communicate openly about fixes and updates. I really want to see this game soar; it has amazing potential, and players deserve better.
**Interviewer:** Fingers crossed it’s resolved soon! Thank you for sharing your insights, Jiří. We hope to see you back in the cockpit shortly.
**Jiří Bigas:** Thank you! Let’s hope the clouds clear soon so we can take off!
