The DirectSR API resource was announced by Microsoft during GDC 2024, emphasizing that it is jointly created with NVIDIA, AMD and Intel, so that games on the Windows platform can improve screen resolution performance through machine learning and other methods, while only occupying very low GPU display performance. This API is actually based on AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution 2 technology, which can be used by most CPU and GPU combinations.
