With Workflows, the Microsoft Teams workflow, service users can get updates on any tasks assigned to them in the app, along with ways to manage online meetings and a way to take action following receiving a message. This Wednesday (25), Microsoft announced that it will integrate workflow features more directly into its Teams application. It will all start with a dedicated Workflow application within Teams itself, using the Microsoft Power Automate platform.
It promises to make it easier to automate processes and activities by connecting different applications, inside and outside of Microsoft 365 programs. There are now a large number of templates in the Workflows section of the Teams Store. Many are for Microsoft programs and others are from third-party companies such as Jira, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Bitbucket, Zendesk, Freshdesk and YouTube.
The redesigned homepage highlights useful new categories like ‘Calendar’ and ‘Notifications’ and features the most recently published templates you may have missed. Teams has also added a new menu option in your chat channel and list that will allow users to create and configure new workflows from each Teams chat or channel you are involved in. Workflow templates can now also be found in individual chats.
There are also plans to integrate AI into this feature, allowing the user to create a desired flow. From there, the tool will create a workflow with triggers and actions.
