The 27th of June is known as the International Day of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, a date on which smaller enterprises and their importance to the world economy are honored. In the Brazilian scenario, according to the Ministry of Economymicro and small companies make up 99% of commercial establishments in the country, also representing 30% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

This date was established by United Nations (UN) in 2017 and joins other celebrations on the calendar with the aim of highlighting the relevance of small businesses in Brazil, such as the National Day of Micro and Small Businesses, which is celebrated on October 5th.

In this context, Direct Selling plays a significant role in providing an affordable and flexible business platform for small-scale entrepreneurs. Through this model, micro and small entrepreneurs have the opportunity to market products and services directly to consumers, establishing a personal relationship and strengthening the local economy.

“The International Day of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises is an opportunity to highlight the essential role of these enterprises for the Brazilian economy”, says Paulo Moledo, CEO of Royal Prestige®, a kitchenware brand. “We are proud to support Direct Selling as a viable option for small business owners and committed to providing solutions and resources that drive continued success.”

Furthermore, the industry recognizes the importance of MSMEs as engines of economic growth and is committed to providing comprehensive support, training and development tools.
