“I’m used to humiliation and insults, it’s been like that all my life, but somehow I always win in the end. We’ll see how it goes in this case… I’m sorry they don’t see a policy change here. In our country, in the government of Macedonia, the times of politicians with a bent spine, of politicians who humiliate themselves, of politicians who are ready to sign anything but not to protect the interests of Macedonian citizens, have passed. said the Prime Minister of North Macedonia K. Mickoski. Commentary on the statements of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Bulgarian President Rumen Radev, according to which the government lacks knowledge of international and constitutional law and does not respect international agreements.
“They need to get used to politicians who are here to protect the interests of citizens, to work for the good of the country, for the future, and we are ready to build good neighborly relations with everyone. My message to both of them, however, they are more experienced than me, they have been in their positions for a long time, one is the president of the country, the other is the prime minister, we are a peaceful, small nation, one of the smallest in the Balkans, we are ready to cooperate with anyone and we see cooperation as a two-way street. It can’t be a one-way street. On May 8, the times that saw cooperation with Macedonian politicians as a one-way street ended,” Mickoski said, answering questions from journalists.
He called on Radev and Mitsotakis to work together for the economic development of the states and the coming together of the peoples and added in response to the comments that he ignores the constitutional order and obligations from international agreements: “I am used to humiliation and insults, all my life it was like that, but somehow I always win in the end. We’ll see how it goes in this case. I want us, as Balkan states, to follow the examples of other types of states, such as the Baltic, Scandinavian, and all together with built bridges, complex, common, to present themselves in third markets, in front of the officials of the European Union, everywhere in the world. Let’s build a good neighborly policy. With disparagement and insults this thing should not be done, if they decided to do it that way. I thought that we left such attitudes in the Middle Ages, I thought that now, in the 21st century, we should talk regarding how to jointly develop our common economy, education, tourism, network people, bring them together. I am ready to talk regarding it and I think that my interlocutors from that side should reconsider their statements and behavior. However, I am not the one who should advise them what to do,” Mickoski said during his visit to Gevgeli.
