Michelle is ending her career after 30 years. The pop stars react online – and Anna-Carina Woitschack strikes a surprisingly thoughtful tone.

Cologne – “That’s it for me…”: With these words, Michelle (51) announced the end of her thirty-year career on Friday (October 20th). She wants to share one last album and one last tour with her fans, then she will finally draw a line in the sand. The pop stars react to this surprising news on social media – and Anna-Carina Woitschack (30) in particular strikes a critical tone.

“It’s not easy sometimes”: Anna-Carina Woitschack talks about Michelle’s career end

In the announcement of the end of her career on Instagram, Michelle spoke of how “she had absolutely nothing left of everything she had worked so hard for and always dreamed of” and that “confidants” had simply enriched themselves through their naivety.” Her colleagues react to this with emotional messages – and especially the lines that Anna-Carina Woitschack addresses to the singer are likely to make many fans particularly thoughtful.

“Thank you for your honest words,” writes Stefan Mross’ (47) wife and adds: “We women sometimes really don’t have it easy in the industry. I wish you all the best from the bottom of my heart.” They are critical words – especially after Michelle’s BILDinterview in which she explained that she had “swimmed through a shark tank for thirty years, mostly without a lifebuoy” did not paint a particularly positive picture.

Michelle has already ended her career twice

This is by no means Michelle’s first retreat from the spotlight. After a suicide attempt in spring 2004, she turned her back on music for almost a year and instead opened a dog salon in Hamburg. The comeback to showbiz followed in 2005 – then another farewell in 2008. Since 2009, Matthias Reim’s ex-wife (65) has been back on the country’s big stages without any major interruptions, but this time she seems to be really serious about saying goodbye to the hit business.
