Michelle Gisin’s Impressive 7th Place Finish at Soldeu Slalom and Return to World Cup Skiing Business

Michelle Gisin achieved a good 7th time in the first round of the Soldeu slalom for her return to business. The best time was the work of the Swede Anna Swenn Larsson.

Missing the last four World Cup events due to a painful shin, Michelle Gisin lost 0.72 seconds to Anna Swenn Larsson. The Obwalden is 30 hundredths behind 3rd place, currently occupied by the Croatian Zrinka Ljutic.

Coming back on Saturday as a giant (15th), Camille Rast managed the 8th time. The Valaisanne, who lost 0”81 on the provisional leader, is the last skier classified in the same second. Nicole Good is 17th (at 1”76), while Mélanie Meillard (28th at 2”54) did significantly less well.

Victory should be decided between Anna Swenn Larsson and the American Paula Moltzan, 2nd at 0”14. This race promised to be very open in the absence of the two queens of the discipline, Mikaela Shiffrin and Petra Vlhova, who had won 14 of the last 15 slaloms contested. The second round is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
