Michelena and Lobatera Communities Face Extended Power Loss for Over 20 Hours

Zulma Lopez / DLA .-

From Sunday at 4:30 pm until this Monday at 1:20 pm Residents of the municipalities of Michelena and Lobatera, located in the northern part of the state of Táchira, were without electricity.

The councilor of the Michelena municipality, Jesús Mora, warned about the situation that kept him in suspense to those who live in these municipalities, since the majority during the morning of this Monday were unaware of the reasons that caused this new blackout.

Mora said that absolutely no one informed them of the causes that led to this new blackout in both towns, which were left in darkness uninterruptedly for exactly 20 hours and 30 minutes.

He said that the situation caused most of the town’s inhabitants to be left without internet and without telephone connection, “in order to send this information to you, I am connected to the gas plant, this is serious, very serious because if there is a power outage for so many hours, it is good that you let us know,” he said.

The most affected have been the owners of butcher shops, and in addition, the inhabitants of both municipalities are concerned about food that needs refrigeration.

According to Mora, for about 20 days Daily blackouts of 3 and 4 hours are again being recorded. He said that these power cuts are not part of a rationing plan, but rather occur unexpectedly, affecting the daily life of the Michelena municipality.
