This Thursday, May 18, Michel Drucker gave his news following his heart operation at the microphone of RTL. On the air, he notably revealed his return date.
“I have the impression of being a ghost, a survivor”, says Michel Drucker, to RTL, this Thursday, May 18. At the end of last week, the host was able to leave the hospital following a stay of almost two months. During this period, he had been operated on from the heart at the level of the mitral valve, following the detection of a bacterium during medical examinations, reports The Parisian. The 80-year-old host will now undergo rehabilitation for several weeks.
Back for the start of the school year?
On the waves of RTL, the presenter of “Vivement Dimanche” assured that he would return to the controls of the show next September to start “a new season”. He also assured that he would be at the Paris Olympics in 2024 with the France Télévisions team.
During his stay in the hospital, the host admitted that “relatives came” to visit him despite the ban on long meetings. “Cut off from the world” without a phone, he found this period very difficult to live with.
Long rehabilitation
After the “hospital” page turned, Michel Drucker must now tackle the next one, called “rehabilitation”. He tells our colleagues that he has “nine kilos of muscle” to recover. As a great lover of cycling that he is, the 80-year-old athlete admits to having already got back on the saddle, less than a week following leaving the hospital center.
At the same time, the former sports journalist reuses flex bars, because “the chest, which has been opened several times, is still very painful”.
