Michael Yakovlev advanced to the quarterfinals of the Keirin competition

Almost 24 hours before turning off the lights on the Paris Olympics, the Israeli representatives will try to take advantage of their last chance to win another Olympic medal for the delegation.

After the relative disappointment in the sprint competition, Michael Yakovlev advanced to the quarter-finals in the Keirin competition on track bikes, after beating five riders in his division. The Keirin competition works in the form of a race between six riders during which they ride six laps – three behind a motorcycle that dictates the pace and then three racing laps, at the end of which two advance to the finals from each end. After the first round, the consolation house will take place, where the two best from each heat advance to the quarterfinals. Tomorrow the quarter, semi and final stages will take place in the afternoon.
