    A former cook of Formula 1 icon Michael Schumacher emotionally recounts her encounters with the then Ferrari driver in Italy.

    The Ferrari mechanics are said to have given him a farewell group photo in 2006 that said: “Sei uno di noi”. Translated: “You are one of us.” With the Scuderia from Maranello in northern Italy, the now 54-year-old Rhinelander was crowned world champion in the Formula 1 racing premier class five times in a row between 2000 and 2004. In Fiorano Modenese, the neighboring municipality of Maranello, the fire-red Scuderia has its home test track.

    Tires, new engines, aerodynamics – Schumacher and his teams fine-tuned the Italian racing car here. Right next to the race track is the “Montana” restaurant, where Schumacher often fortified himself with pasta during his breaks. “Mamma” Rossella Giannini, the owner and cook, once once more spoke emotionally regarding her previous encounters with the Formula 1 superstar.

    Rossella once said that she thinks back to Schumacher’s visits “every day”. Bild described. “I also have a lot of photos of him here, so of course I think regarding him a lot. I miss him. “I miss my friend,” the Italian told the newspaper. Rossella spilled one or two details.

Because: Rossella’s restaurant is popular among Formula 1 drivers and a place of pilgrimage for Ferrari fans. Sebastian Vettel also came here for lunch during his time at Ferrari (2015 to 2020).

    Now that Schumacher’s fateful skiing accident in Méribel, France, marks the tenth anniversary on December 29th, “Mamma” Rossella has remembered once more in an interview. Among other things, the first time we met on “14. February 1996. Michael was in Maranello to be introduced as the new driver. The team took him to three restaurants. Also to me in Montana. We hit it off straight away, so Michael kept coming back,” the restaurant owner told Sports picture.

    It was almost heartbreaking when she looked back on December 29, 2013, when the news of Schumacher’s serious fall in the French Alps hit the media around the world. “I was on vacation at the time and heard it on the news. “When it became clear how bad the extent of it was, my world collapsed,” said Giannini, describing her emotions.

    “I miss him much. Every day I look at the front door and hope that he will walk through once more and that I will make him tagliatelle al ragù,” she continued: “I can hardly believe that the accident was ten years ago. In the meantime, I was able to make peace with the situation. I no longer suffer, but remember the beautiful moments.”

    Todt, his former confidant at Ferrari, recently commented on the former Formula 1 world champion. The 77-year-old Frenchman told the French sports daily The Team: “Michael (Schumacher) is there, so I don’t miss him. He is no longer the Michael he was before. He is different and is wonderfully protected by his wife and children.” (pm)
