Michael Neerdael, a resident of the Namur region originally from Wanze, is no longer unknown to justice. The 36-year-old man, described as a notorious con man, was sentenced last week by the Criminal Court of Liège to a 6-month prison sentence suspended for 5 years on the execution of a third of the sentence prison, report the newspapers of the Sud Presse group.
This new sentence is in addition to another sentence pronounced in 2020 where the Liègeois had been sentenced to 30 months for forgery, scams and money laundering. But the man, who had to compensate his victims and reimburse an amount equivalent to €2,748,206, prefers to drive a Porsche. He was therefore condemned for having organized his insolvency and for the lack of consideration shown for his victims.
The one that the court documents describe as “charismatic” had succeeded in convincing investors to place their money in … sports betting … Some lost huge sums there.
