Jaafar Jackson enters the big leagues. This Monday, January 30, the son of Jermaine Jackson announced, via his Twitter account, that he would play the role of the king of pop in a biopic dedicated to him, at the cinema.

On June 25, 2009, Michael Jackson dies aged 50. The one we nicknamed the king of pop, had been found unconscious in his bed in Los Angeles. Unfortunately, the many cardiac massages provided by his cardiologist, Dr Conrad Murray, will not have been enough to revive the American singer. The American media argues that it is Jafaar, the artist’s nephew, who landed the lead role of this project, led by the American director Antoine Fuqua. Jermaine Jackson, one of Michael’s brothers and former member of the Jackson 5, passed on his passion for music to his son. So much so that in 2019, at the age of 12, he released his very first single, Got me singing. This Monday, January 30, the young man therefore confirmed the news of Deadline on his Twitter account. “I’m truly honored to be able to bring my Uncle Michael’s story to life. To all the fans around the world, see you soon”, he wrote on the social network. In the columns of Hollywood Reporter, the late singer’s mother was quick to react to the news. “Jaafar embodies my son. It’s so wonderful to see him pass on the Jackson legacy”she said.

Prince Jackson shared a photo of his cousin, Jaafar Jacksoncaptured by her brother, to react to the announcement. “My cousin is going to play my father in an upcoming biopic directed by Antoine Fuqua. He looks so much like my dad and I’m sure we’ll all do our best to show the world a side of my dad they’ve never seen before.”he wrote, overjoyed.
