MIC and Sinafocal coordinate work to formalize MSMEs linked to the events sector

Asunción, IP Agency.- With the objective of implementing concrete actions of formalization, competitiveness and training of MSMEs dedicated to the areas of events, tourism, gastronomy and other associates, this Thursday the 26th a working group was held involving the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Sinafocal and actors from the private sector.

The meeting was led by the Vice Minister of MSMEs, Gustavo Giménez, and the Technical Secretary of the National System of Labor Training and Training (Sinafocal), Alfredo Mongelos, who addressed tools for formalization, development, strengthening and competitiveness that will be implemented through Sinafocal to starting this year and projecting in the 2025 budget.

This approach seeks to integrate the formation of the microbusiness ecosystem into a broader strategy that responds to the specific needs of gastronomy, events and social activities.

Paraguay as a center for international events

Deputy Minister Giménez spoke of the need to prepare for large-scale international events, such as the World Rally Championship and Felaban, which will take place this year. “We are committed to positioning our MSME ecosystem so that it can support and stand out in the realization of these events, consolidating our country as a center of activities in the area of ​​events, gastronomy and floristry,” he stated.

For his part, the head of Sinafocal, Alfredo Mongelos, mentioned inter-institutional coordination as a key element, taking into account that entrepreneurs and MSMEs face numerous challenges, so their growth must be ensured and facilitated.

“We must certify the knowledge they have acquired empirically and support them in the formalization process. Teamwork strengthens. Many times unions feel that we work separately, but this collaboration helps to better manage resources and obtain better results,” stated Mongelos.

State support

In turn, Juan Bai, representative of the Paraguayan Restaurant Association (ARPY), said that the rapprochement between the Government and private companies is always important. “It is not enough to have a RUC; There are numerous conditions that must be met, from cooking to customer service. The quality of the service depends on an entire team, not just the chef,” he added.

He added that collaboration with Sinafocal is essential to address these challenges. “Certification of workers’ skills is the main thing. In today’s workshop, we listen and share experiences, so that those we train receive appropriate evaluations and certifications. This will improve the quality of service in all aspects,” he noted.
