The Austrian Patent Office collects annually which companies have registered the most new patents. The data now available for the year 2022 underscore the innovative power of Miba AG: with 32 new patent applications, the Laakirchner technology group is the innovation leader in Upper Austria for the second time in a row. As in 2021, Miba also took third place in the Austria-wide ranking of companies with the most new patent applications.
Miba’s great innovative power is also reflected in the 44 million euros that the company invested in research and development in the past fiscal year alone – this corresponds to an R&D quota, i.e. a share of sales, of around four percent. The group of companies employs around 300 people in research and development, and is constantly looking for additional colleagues.
