The new MG HS is entering the market. It is bigger, more refined and comes with a supercharged petrol engine or as a plug-in hybrid. What does it offer and how much does it cost? See for yourself.

This car “swept” the Polish market. In June alone, over 800 units were registered, and the line of people willing to buy them is not getting shorter. However, some people should hold off, because the next generation of this car is entering the picture. MG HS 2025 debuts at Goodwood and immediately hits the “high C”.
MG HS 2025. New design, better equipment
Let’s start with the dry technical data. The new MG HS 2025 is 4,670 mm long, 1,890 mm wide and has a wheelbase of 2,765 mm. The difference compared to the current model is therefore large – 4.5 centimeters in this key place.
The body is dressed in a bold style that focuses on sharp and dynamic lines. However, this is not a completely new model. First, in China it was offered as the Roewe RX5. Second – the RX5 market debut took place 2 years ago. Minor changes adapted the front and rear fascia to the MG design.

The interior is shown in one photo for now. Here we have two screens connected by one pane of glass, a simple central console and a handful of buttons around the automatic gear lever. The whole thing looks neat and elegant – it looks very promising.
Under the hood there will be a sensible option and a fuel-efficient option
The former is a more modern version of the 1.5 Turbo engine. It now offers 169 hp and 275 Nm of torque. We will invariably get this unit with a 6-speed manual, or optionally with a double-clutch automatic.
The second option is a plug-in hybrid. Here, the same engine is combined with a powerful electric unit and a large battery with a capacity of 24.7 kWh. In total, we will get regarding 300 HP here, and the sprint to 100 takes 6.8 seconds. Interestingly, the range on a single charge is over 120 kilometers. This result is impressive and suggests that city use with regular charging will be very cheap.

MG promises that the new model will not be much more expensive
W Great Britain its prices start at less than 25,000 pounds (125,000 zlotys). The plug-in hybrid requires spending around 160,000 zlotys. So in reality, the base petrol in Poland will be slightly cheaper, and the hybrid will probably start at 160-170 thousand zlotys, which will still be one of the better offers on the market.
