With this new figure, the amount of 4 million 214 thousand 253 infections was reached and according to the Daily Technical Report on the pandemic, on the last day they were reported 190 deaths, to reach a total of 300,764 since the start of the pandemic.
Since last January 8, there has been a accelerated growth of COVID-19 cases, since in less than a week the maximum record of infections has been broken three times.
The secretariat reported, through a statement, that so far in the pandemic, 3 million 373 thousand 393 people have recovered of the disease and only 5 percent of all registered cases are active, that is, 222 thousand 221 people who reported signs and symptoms of COVID-19 in the last 14 days.
At the national level, he noted, the hospital network registers a reduction of 85 percent in occupation relative to the highest point of the second epidemic wave in January 2021.
In the last 24 hours, the availability of general beds is 76 percent, while that of beds with a mechanical ventilator stands at 85 percent, he indicated.
The Health Secretary reiterates that it is necessary to continue basic prevention measures: healthy distance, frequent hand washing with soap and water or application of alcohol-gel, as well as correct use of face masks, ventilation in closed spaces and maintaining precautions in public spaces.
In case of symptoms of COVID-19, the person must isolate himself for at least seven days, monitor the warning signs such as oxygenation, heart rate and presence of fever, maintain basic preventive measures and ventilate closed spaces.
