MEXICO CITY.- This Tuesday, September 2nd The death of a Mexican woman was reported falling about 40 meters down a cliffin the area of Tossa de Mar Castlein Catalonia, Spain.
According to the investigations, the 51-year-old compatriot I was a tourist on the Vila Vella promenade, in the highest part of the Castle and the wall of Tossa, and would have jumped a fence which prevented access to the area closest to the cliff.
According to “El País”, the Mexican would have gone up to a spotlight with its back turned to take a photohowever, this would have yielded making her fall between 30 and 40 meters.
Firefighters and rescuers used a helicopter to recover the body, since I was in a rocky areawhich cannot be accessed by land.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE), through the Mexican Consulate in Barcelona, reported that the local police of Tossa de Mar notified the consular representation of the death of a Mexican person in that town, after “a regrettable accident.”
The SRE, in charge of Alicia Barcenasaid that the Mexican Consulate in Barcelona immediately activated the protocol to assist the victim’s family.
“Diplomatic personnel established communication with the person who was traveling with the compatriot to provide the necessary assistance and support the arrangements for the transfer of the remains to Mexico, if the family so requires,” he said.
The agency also regretted the death of the Mexican citizen and expressed its condolences to the family.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicated that through the Mexican Consulate in Barcelona and the General Directorate of Consular Protection and Strategic Planning, it will continue to provide consular assistance and protection to the victim’s family.
