The famous Mexican comedian Leopoldo Roberto García Peláez Benítez, better known as Polo PoloHe passed away this Monday at the age of 78.
According to an interview that his son paul garcia offered to the “Ventaneando” program, Polo Polo suffered from vascular dementia and died a natural death.
“My father passed away at 5:15 in the morning this Monday, January 23, a natural death at home, suffering from vascular dementia. The last days of his life he was surrounded by the family and my sister was watching over him all the time”, he assured.
“Fortunately, no project was left unfinished and everything he wanted might be achieved,” he concluded.
Born in Leon, Guanajuato, Polo Polo was known for his colorful jokes and rose to fame in the 1980s. The comedian also starred in several television series.
In the 90s, Polo Polo established itself as one of the public’s favorites and toured the Mexican Republic and the United States. On December 3 and 4, 1994, Polo Polo presented two shows at the Grand Olympic Auditorium in Los Angeles, California, with record attendance. A similar situation was repeated at the Sahara Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the Universal Amphitheater in Universal City, California, at the Emilios Ballroom in Houston, Texas, at the Celebrity Theater in Phoenix, Arizona.
