Mets triumph at the Dodgers’ home and the series remains 1-1 before moving on to New York

The New York Mets defeated the Dodgers 3-7 this Monday in Los Angeles and left the National League Championship Series tied 1-1.

Contributing to the massive victory were Puerto Rican Francisco Lindor, who hit a home run in the early stages, and Dominican Marck Vientos, whose bat hit a grand slam.

The best-of-seven series moves this Wednesday to Citi Field in New York.

Left-hander Sean Manaea (2-0) earned the victory after pitching five innings of three runs, one of them earned. In addition, he struck out seven opponents.

Lindor took it out

After being shut out in the previous game, Lindor left the ball out of the park in the first inning against starter Ryan Brasier.

The Mets added a bunch of five runs in the second inning. The first, for a double to left field by Tyrone Taylor that led to the scorer of the Dominican Starling Marte.

With two outs and three teammates on base, Vientos put the icing on the cake by sending the ball over the center field wall. The board thus showed an unappealable 0-6.

The Dodgers scored in the bottom of the fifth, when Max Muncy punished Sean Manaea with a solo homer.

In the sixth, Tommy Edman hit a single to right field that drove in Mookie Betts and Teoscar Hernández to leave the partial count at 3-6.

The Mets lace

In the ninth inning, Marte hit a hit to center field that led to Pete Alonso scoring the seventh run.

Díaz reached the first two batters he faced in the ninth, but managed to strike out Betts, Hernández and Freddie Freeman. Thus he put an end to the game and won the save.

Brasier (1-1) lost the game by allowing one run in one inning pitched.

In total, Vientos drove in four runs, Lindor scored two and drove in one, while Marte scored and drove in another. For the Dodgers, Hernández added one.
