On the evening of Tuesday, May 2, passengers of the metro in St. Petersburg on the green line encountered difficulties. Due to the failure, trains began to move at a speed of 20 km / h, crowds formed at the stations. The situation was further aggravated by repairs at Vasileostrovskaya.

In the metro of St. Petersburg, they said that a traffic light broke down in the tunnel on the section from Vasileostrovskaya to Gostiny Dvor. Because of this, the trains were forced to travel at a speed of 20 km per hour. “So far, an extended interval. If it goes badly, you will have to temporarily close the entrance to the station, ”the press service of the St. Petersburg metro specified.

The first messages from passengers to the Fontanka office came at about 18:30. Eyewitnesses began to tell that “there is no train towards the center for 8 minutes”, and also that “the train towards Begovaya has been standing at the station for 6 minutes”.

“Ten minutes ago we were dropped off the train towards Begovaya on Aleksandr Nevsky, there is no other train yet. The train towards “Rybatsky” also stands on the platform, does not leave. They announced an increased interval throughout the branch for technical reasons, ”said one eyewitness.

Trains on the green line of the St. Petersburg subway, as described in the press service of the metro, move with an increased interval of movement and with an increased running time of the trains.

The situation was further aggravated by repairs at Vasileostrovskaya. There was a large crowd of people at the entrance. From May 2 to September 17, passengers are not allowed to enter the station from 8:00 to 10:30 on weekdays. After noon from four to eight in the evening, admission will be limited.
