The resources will come from a parliamentary amendment, destined by the district deputy Max Maciel
The Companhia do Metropolitano do Distrito Federal (Metrô-DF) published a tender notice for hiring a company specialized in the supply of body cameras for use in the uniform of the company’s Operational Security Corps employees.
In addition to supplying the cameras, the bidding includes data station services for loading, recording, storage, management and transmission of images captured during operational activities at the company’s stations.
The equipment to be acquired is intended to be another monitoring and protection tool for system users and public agents, such as representatives of the Company.
The body cameras serve as an ostensive tool to inhibit illicit actions, in addition to preserving the physical integrity of everyone. “The cameras also demonstrate that the company is committed to the transparency of the actions carried out by the Operational Security Corps, ensuring that they are carried out regularly and legally, and that any conduct investigations are more effective and faster”, defends the president of the company, Handerson Cabral.
The estimated value of the contract is confidential, in compliance with arts. 34 of Law No. 13.303/2016 and 42 of the Internal Regulation for Tenders and Contracts of the Metrô-DF. The resources will come from a parliamentary amendment, intended by district deputy Max Maciel.
Metrô-DF may be the first entity in the Federal District to adopt equipment for the security service, items that are already used in other states. At the moment,
the Metrô-DF security staff has 219 employees.
