A St. Petersburg residence became the site of a major bust after detectives uncovered an active methamphetamine lab inside. Three individuals are now facing serious charges in connection to the operation.
On Tuesday, May 31, 2016, Pinellas County deputies responded to a call at 1321 Mentone Drive. During their initial investigation, they encountered what they suspected could be a meth lab. Narcotics detectives were immediately called to the scene.
Using a variety of investigative techniques, the narcotics team confirmed their suspicions: a clandestine meth lab was indeed operating within the residence.
As a result, 45-year-old Kimberly Phipps, 31-year-old Robert Boyd and 54-year-old Charles D. Hale were taken into custody. Each has been charged with Manufacturing Methamphetamine and Possession of Unlawful Listed Chemicals.
The trio was transported to the Pinellas County Jail without incident. Authorities seized multiple chemicals and pieces of equipment used in the production of methamphetamine.
The investigation into this operation is ongoing.
