In 2022, a composition prize for chamber music was awarded for the second time on the initiative of the INÖK – Interest group for Lower Austrian composers in cooperation with the Allegro Vivo Festival, the cultural department of the state of Lower Austria, the Musikfabrik NÖ and the music publisher Doblinger advertised throughout Austria. Under the On the subject of “Metamorphoses” innovative works were sought that explore with contemporary compositional styles.
The main prize, endowed with € 3,500, a composition grant from the cultural department of the state of Lower Austria, went to the Lower Austrian composer Philipp Manuel Gutmann for his piano trio “Leise breathe alle Blumen”, which was performed on September 8, 2023 in the “Konzerthaus Weinviertel” in Ziersdorf Altenberg-Trio as part of the Allegro Vivo Festivals 2023 will be premiered.
Other prizewinners are Sonja Huber, Verena Zeiner, Otto Wanke (recognition prizes of the INÖK) and Berthold Cvach (special prize of the Music factory Lower Austria). The jury (Vahid Khadem-Missagh, Ursula Erhart-Schwertmann, Nikolaus Straka, Richard Graf and Gottfried Zawichowski) was delighted with the creativity and the artistic level of the numerous submissions.
