In terms of the sound experience, many have let it be known that they did not appreciate it at all.
On the community website Reddit, a Montrealer asked Internet users if he was the “only one to be shocked by the sound quality of the Olympic Stadium”.
“I was incredibly disappointed with the sound quality. […] All we heard was bass and drums! I mightn’t tell one instrument from another, it was just a constant hubbub. Even knowing the songs by heart, I had trouble recognizing them!” castigates user @the_flying_lunatic.
“I am extremely disappointed and frustrated, as I was looking forward to LISTEN to Metallica, a [groupe de] music that has [fait partie] of my youth. I had a place for both days, but I won’t be going back on Sunday. I keep a big frustration in my heart…”
Similar observation by an acquaintance of the former radio host at “The Beat 92.5” station, Jeremy White.
“My friend was directly in front of the stage and said the sound was [mauvais]. I really don’t understand the purpose of these stadium shows like this other than to be part of the event,” he said on his X account.

A friend was right at the stage and said the sound was ???? I seriously don’t get the appeal of stadium shows like this except being a part of “the event”. #M72Montreal pic.twitter.com/7PsQmBvH04

In addition to these problems shared by these Internet users, several spectators have only good words for Metallica’s first show.
“Kudos to Evenko and the entire Olympic Stadium organization for Metallica’s show at the Stadium yesterday. Virtually no waits, whether for restrooms, concessions, or beer. I saw several of the shows and I was really impressed last night! Good job! Now you have to repeat this feat [dimanche]“, rejoices a viewer on X.
THANKS. It’s nice to hear. We really worked hard to make this evening a memorable one. ???????????? https://t.co/aU4vKpoMAv

Contacted by TVA Nouvelles in connection with negative comments from spectators, Olympic Park spokesman Cédric Essiminy took the criticism with a grain of salt, saying he did not see “people who cried on the spot” by relation to sound.
“As with all our events, we are in “continuous improvement” mode and we have already made corrections for the show on Sunday, in particular in terms of the exit of spectators and the number of bins on the site. The comments from the people present at the Stadium on Friday evening are positive and encourage us to continue,” said Mr. Essiminy.
