The basis for the wage agreement that will apply from November 1st this year is rolling inflation from September 2023 to September 2024 plus one percent. For reference: rolling inflation was 4.2 percent in August. As in the previous year, companies in a very difficult economic situation will once again have the opportunity to apply the competition and employment protection clause (WBSK) – i.e. to increase actual wages to a lesser extent. Last year, with significantly higher inflation, the social partners in the metal industry agreed on an average gross income increase of 8.6 percent. The brewers have already completed this year’s autumn wage round. A week ago, employers and employees in the brewing industry agreed on a gross increase of 3.9 percent.
