In previous iterations of the game, the voice for Naked Snake’s companion was credited to Suzetta Minet, a name originating from Benson’s career trajectory, which was primarily anchored in children’s animation. She reveals that the name was inspired by her childhood dog, Suzette Monet, with a few alterations leading to the creation of Suzetta Minet.

Despite the name change, she recalls with amusement how fans would bring up her role in Metal Gear Solid at conventions. “About seven years ago, at various conventions where we meet and engage with wonderful fans, someone handed me one of these cherished games at my table,” Benson recounts. “Curious, I asked, ‘Why are you presenting me with that?’ To which he replied, ‘Because you’re in it.’ Then I said, ‘Do you know? Do you know my deep, dark secret?’”
