Konami has unveiled an exciting new video featuring a trio of iconic stars from the Metal Gear Solid franchise. Esteemed voice actors David Hayter, renowned for his role as Solid Snake, Jodi Benson, known widely for her work in animated classics, and Lori Alan, who portrays various beloved characters, engage in a revealing discussion about their experiences in the 2004 classic game. They also delve into details regarding the much-anticipated remake, <a href="https://www.archyde.com/metal-gear-solid-delta-snake-eater-spider-man-2-dragons-dogma-2-playstation-showcase-announcement-recap-news/" title="Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater, Spider-Man 2, Dragon's Dogma 2… PlayStation Showcase announcement recap – News”>Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, while sharing insights on the process of recording new dialogue for this upcoming title.
In the latest installment of the Metal Gear Solid Legacy Series, Hayter discusses the depth of the dialogue in Metal Gear Solid Delta, stating that a significant portion retains its essence from the original game. He surprises his co-actors, Benson and Alan, by prompting a conversation that reveals that new lines have indeed been recorded for the remake. This was followed by captivating footage of Benson showcasing her talent in the studio during the recording sessions.
“It was a blast,” exclaims Alan, reflecting on her return as the character Boss. “Returning to these roles is a seamless experience because they’ve been marinating in their love affairs, their conflicts, their complexities, so it takes no time to literally immerse ourselves back into those characters and their intricate relationships.”
“And twenty years have passed, you know, so you gain a deeper sense of legacy and history with these characters that allows you to dive back into their world, but then layer on top of it,” adds Benson thoughtfully. “However, the core storyline remains intact and engaging.”
The video also officially unveiled Benson as the voice of Eva, a beloved character in the series. In previous iterations of the game, the voice for Naked Snake’s companion was credited to Suzetta Minet, a name originating from Benson’s career trajectory, which was primarily anchored in children’s animation. She reveals that the name was inspired by her childhood dog, Suzette Monet, with a few alterations leading to the creation of Suzetta Minet.
Despite the name change, she recalls with amusement how fans would bring up her role in Metal Gear Solid at conventions. “About seven years ago, at various conventions where we meet and engage with wonderful fans, someone handed me one of these cherished games at my table,” Benson recounts. “Curious, I asked, ‘Why are you presenting me with that?’ To which he replied, ‘Because you’re in it.’ Then I said, ‘Do you know? Do you know my deep, dark secret?’”
This revelation seems to shed light on Hayter’s recent activity in a recording booth earlier in October, possibly indicating he was making final contributions to the production of Metal Gear Solid Delta. While it appears that Konami is nearing the completion of this eagerly awaited project, an official release date has yet to be disclosed.
Have such a rich history and depth. The characters are like old friends, and stepping back into their shoes feels completely natural.”
