Meta may announce subscription service with games and apps for Quest

Meta may be planning to launch a Quest subscription service for games and apps, similar to what Sony and Microsoft currently offer.

One Twitter user found interesting references to an alleged Quest Pass via the Meta Quest app on Android.

If true, the Quest Pass would work similarly to Microsoft’s Xbox Live Games with Gold and the PlayStation Plus essential tier.

In the description of the service, it is mentioned that the user might receive two new applications or games monthly with Project Apollo. It is also mentioned that the titles would be redeemed and would remain in the library, offering different experiences in virtual reality.

By redeeming your apps and games until the end of the month, they would stay in the user’s account and might be accessed while the subscription was active.

The VGC contacted Meta to comment on the information, but the company has not commented so far.

Last week, the company revealed that it has sold more than 20 million Quest headsets since the device’s launch in 2019. VR division vice president Mark Rabkin presented results in a presentation to employees, leaked by The Verge.

Reportedly, the Meta Quest 3 headset will be released this year and is twice as thin, will be at least twice as powerful, and will cost $400 less than the Quest 2.
