Very bitter!
Former international Mesut Özil (33/has been playing for Basaksehir Istanbul since the summer) was recently able to celebrate the birth of his second child, Ela. Now the shock! The midfielder has to go under the knife!
What happened?
The Basaksehir star has been suffering from back problems for a long time. That’s why the 2014 World Champion now has to be operated on this weekend. The player himself announces on Twitter. “Unfortunately, I will be out for a longer time. I’m going to have surgery this weekend to finally get my back pain free. I’ll try everything to get back on the pitch as soon as possible.”
And further: “Thank you for all your love & support.”
Again and once more, Özil is tormented by bad luck with injuries!
In the last two seasons he has been absent for a total of 237 days, most of them at his previous station Fenerbahçe Istanbul. The highest number of days lost due to back problems (41 days), lumbar problems (42 days) and torn ankle ligaments (39 days).
The downtime keeps throwing him back, so following his time at Arsenal he doesn’t really get going in Turkey either.
This season Özil played only 66 minutes in 4 games. It’s not sporty!
Now he has to be patient once more.
