President Wonjae Jang Meritz Financial Group appointed President Wonjae Jang (56) and Executive Director Kim Joong-hyun (46) as new CEOs of Meritz Securities and Meritz Fire & Marine Insurance on the 20th, respectively. Vice Chairman Choi Hee-moon (59), who led Meritz Securities for 13 years, took on the position of general manager of group operations at Meritz Financial Group. Meritz Financial announced this, saying it carried out its first reorganization following being integrated and launched through the incorporation of a subsidiary in April.
The new CEO of Meritz Securities, Jang, served as Chief Risk Management Officer (CRO) at Meritz Fire & Marine Insurance and Holdings, and then as Head of Sales and Operations (S&T) at Meritz Securities. The new CEO of Meritz Fire & Marine Insurance, Kim, was selected as the CEO in his 40s following serving as the head of the auto insurance team, head of the product strategy department, and head of the management support department. Executive Director Kim Joong-hyeon Meritz Financial plans to establish a holding-centered management system. Vice Chairman Choi, CEO of Meritz Securities, will move to the position of holding company and take on the role of head of the group management division, and Vice Chairman Kim Yong-beom (60) will step down from his position as CEO of Meritz Fire & Marine Insurance and serve as the CEO of the holding company and head of the group debt department.
