On the 20th, Meritz Financial Group held a board of directors meeting and decided on personnel appointments on the 21st, appointing Vice Chairman Kim Yong-beom as head of the group debt division and Vice Chairman Choi Hee-moon as head of the group operation division. Vice Chairman Kim, who was concurrently serving as the holding company and CEO of Meritz Fire & Marine Insurance, will only serve as the holding company representative. Vice Chairman Choi will step down from his position as CEO of Meritz Securities and move to the position of holding company.

In the group debt division, Meritz Fire & Marine Insurance appointed Kim Kyung-hwan, head of strategic sales (Vice President), Kim Jong-il, head of personal sales (executive director), and Eun Sang-young, head of TM business division (managing director).
In the group management division, Kim Jong-min, head of Meritz Fire & Marine Insurance’s asset management department (vice president), Meritz Securities’ Yeo Eun-seok, head of Meritz Securities’ project finance business (vice president), and Kwon Dong-chan, head of trading division (managing director), were assigned.

Meritz Fire & Marine Insurance promoted Executive Director Kim Joong-hyun, who had been serving as the head of the management support department, to vice president and appointed him as CEO. New CEO Kim was born in 1977 (age 46) and graduated from the Department of Business Administration at Seoul National University. He joined Meritz Fire & Marine Insurance in 2015 and served as head of the auto insurance team and head of the product strategy department.
Meritz Securities appointed President Jang Won-jae, head of the Sales & Trading Division, as its new CEO. He completed his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mathematics from Seoul National University and received a doctorate in mathematics from the University of Minnesota. President Jang, a former Samsung Securities employee, joined Meritz Securities in 2021 following serving as Chief Risk Management Officer (CRO) at Meritz Fire & Marine Insurance.
