As part of the strategies for the historical transformation of the country, merchants in the Historic Center of San Salvador are moving to new locations. President Nayib Bukele’s management will be financially compensating and helping to transport merchandise to the owners of these businesses.

The owner of the Franco’s pupusería, located next to the National Library (BINAES), is part of these notable changes. Through a video, the merchant stated: “This is a great sacrifice for me, but it is something I am willing to do for future generations.”

It should be noted that these merchants have been benefited with $2,000 to relocate, in addition to being offered transportation and a warehouse if necessary.

Regarding the case, President Bukele highlighted: “In the Historic Center, Franco’s moves, with the conviction that the sacrifice they are making today is worth it for a better El Salvador for everyone… Even for themselves.”
