  • Power Boosts Cost More, But Deliver Great Results

  • Try it for a month or buy it for the life of your car

Are you unhappy with the performance of your car? Mercedes-Benz lets you buy more power for your electric sedan or SUV. Increased on-demand throttle can add up to 80 horsepower and reduce acceleration times.

At launch, this feature will be available on the Mercedes-Benz EQE 350 and EQS 450 models. These are the sedan and SUV versions of these two models, if you are not yet familiar with the naming conventions of the Mercedes- Benz EQ.

On EQE 350 models, the overhead update increases engine power from 288 to 348 horsepower. This allows them to reach 100 km/h a second faster and should have beneficial effects on motorway overtaking and similar maneuvers.

The EQS 450 models see their power increase by 80 hp to 435. This is enough to reduce the 0-100 km/h of the sedan to less than five seconds. Benz says these changes don’t reduce the vehicle’s range either, although that largely depends on how you’ll use the extra power.

For EQE owners, the power boost starts at $75 per month or $750 for a one-year subscription. The lifetime subscription to the system is $2,500, and that’s for the life of the vehicle, not for the length of ownership.

Adding the acceleration system to the EQS is much more expensive. $115 per month or $1,150 per year. The lifetime option here is $3,800.

This is just the latest Benz Air Update add-on service. The Mercedes me connect Store also offers functions such as driving modes for beginners, extensive navigation functions, AMG Track Pace, and many more.
