Mercedes-Benz Cars and Vans delivered more than 2.4 million vehicle units in 2021, despite shortages in the semiconductor supply chain. Demand for Mercedes-Benz vehicles remains intactas vehicles from Mercedes-Maybach, Mercedes-AMG and the G-Class reached new sales records in 2021, highlighting the strength of the world’s most valuable luxury car brand.
Mercedes-Benz plug-in hybrid and electric passenger car deliveries reached a record 227,458 units (+ 69.3%), of which 48,936 were battery-electric passenger cars of the Mercedes-EQ range (BEV / + 154.8% ). Including smart and Mercedes-Benz Vans, BEV’s total sales exceeded 99,000 units. Since the EQS went on sale in August 2021, orders for the electric flagship have reached 16,370 units.
The launch in the two largest markets – the United States and China – began in December, providing an additional boost to customer orders.

Mercedes-Benz Cars delivered 2,093,476 vehicles (-5.0%) between January and December 2021, as the shortage of semiconductors delayed vehicle supply despite strong demand for passenger cars and vans in all segments and in all regions. As a result, fourth quarter sales decreased -24.7%.
