Mercato: €40m, a Serie A defender still in sight!

The leaders of Barça know it, they must imperatively strengthen in defense to improve the workforce next season. The Catalan club has already achieved a great deal with the renewal of the Uruguayan’s contract Ronald Araújo until 2026. But they are aware that Gerard Piqué won’t be forever. At 35, the Spanish central is closer to the end of his career and Joan Laporta has already found the name of his successor according to the Spanish press.

According to ASmanagement has set its sights on Kalidou Koulibaly and hopes to bring him this summer. The defender of Napoli still has one year of contract with the Serie A club (June 2023). FC Barcelona has made initial contact with its agent Fali Ramadini to ask him not to sign anything with the Neapolitans regarding a possible contract extension.

The Senegalese international is very popular with the coach Xavi who would dream of an Araújo – Koulibaly hinge in the next few years. In any case, it remains the priority of the Barcelonans to strengthen the central axis of the defense. The Spanish press (AS) reveals thatan agreement in principle would have been reached for a 5-year contracti.e. until 2026. But a problem still arises…

Napoli are not determined to let go of their player for a few million. The Italians ask an amount of €40 million to secure his services. An excessive sum on the side of the Catalans who believe that the player is only one year from the end of his contract. See if the two parties can come to an agreement.
