For those who don’t know, Trocafone is a platform that currently leads the purchase and sale of pre-owned devices in Brazil. In this way, the format “trade-in” can be used in e-commerce to purchase smartphones such as Apple’s iPhone 15 or Samsung’s Galaxy S24.

Mercado Livre announced another benefit for its customers who want to guarantee a good deal to purchase a new cell phone. It is now possible to evaluate your old cell phone to exchange it for a new one with up to R$4,000 discount.
To participate, the consumer simply selects the model they are interested in purchasing. The site will then ask you a few questions regarding the old device to map its condition and prepare a quote.
After this evaluation, the user purchases the cell phone at full price. The next step is to deliver the used device, which will be analyzed by the Mercado Livre team (the price of the budget may change if the assessment is very different than previously stated). The final credit will be deposited into the user’s Mercado Pago account within 30 days.
Are eligible devices of all brands and he doesn’t need to be in perfect condition to participate. The consumer will also need inform the IMEI of the phone and will have 7 days, following delivery of the cell phone, to transfer data from one device to another.
To deliver the device, the Mercado Livre team makes 3 attempts at the consumer’s address or it is also possible to post the object at a Post Office. In both options, shipping is free.
If the consumer does not have a Mercado Pago account, the plan will create one with the same information as the Mercado Livre account and it will be possible to use the balance to make purchases on the website, transfer it to a friend or to a bank account.
