Rumors have been circulating for some time about the release of a new Nintendo Switch 2 console, which would be more powerful and more efficient than the current Nintendo Switch. Some are even speculating on a release date and price for this hypothetical console, like several leaks that have since been deleted on Reddit.

A new publication on Reddit caused a sensation this weekend: an informant claimed know both release date and price of Nintendo Switch 2. This same source shared main menu images which are supposedly intended for Nintendo’s next-gen console.
All of the images are shown below, although it’s highly unlikely that any of them are indeed from, or intended for, the Nintendo Switch 2.

The author of this leak evokes a release date in October 2024 as well as a unit cost of $429.99, i.e. approximately 399 euros. It is curiously the same figure that had been given in a publication Reddit now removed, saying it would be a top-of-the-line model, while another version would only cost $399, or around 369 euros.
Nintendo CEO Shuntaro Furukawa clarifies the situation on the development of the successor to the Switch
The small problem is that this latest alleged Nintendo Switch leak don’t agree really with what company president Shuntaro Furukawa said during an interview with NHK.
The chief executive at Big N merely stated that he ” couldn’t say anything specific “, that he was not concentrating ” not on a specific technology at this time “, but that Nintendo was leading ” research and development on the latest technologies ».
