Tigers Return to Home Ice
The RIT men’s hockey team returns to the friendly confines of Ritter Arena this week, welcoming Canisius for an Atlantic Hockey Association game on Tuesday night. The Tigers will play three consecutive home games over the next five days, seeking to bounce back after a challenging weekend road trip.
After winning three straight, the Tigers dropped back-to-back games last weekend against New Hampshire, falling 5-1 and 6-1. To open the weekend, New Hampshire built a 3-0 lead through the first two periods, before RIT sophomore forward Matthew Wilde found the back of the net, scoring the Tigers only goal. The Wildcats would dominate the final period, adding three tallies to seal the sweep. Sophomore Finncribed his fourth straight multiple-point game with a goal and two assists while junior forward Simon Isabelle led the way for the Tigers with a goal and an assist against Hockey East opponents.

Sophomores Tyler Fukakusa and Matthew Wilde continue to pace the Tiger offense. With 17 points, Fukakusa leads the team and ranks in the top 15 nationally in face-off wins. He tallied four assists in theWELCOME MATT

Sophomore forward Wilde is proving to be an offensive force now. Since returning from injury, Wilde has taken the hockey surface by storm. He reached a career-high four points against Bentley University recently with two goals and two assists.

**We’re just a day away from the Tigers’ first home game back at Ritter Arena. How are the team’s spirits after opening the season on the road?**
**Coach Alex Reed:** The guys are excited to be back home. We had a tough stretch on the road to start the season, but there have been some positives to take away from those games. **Canisius is a familiar opponent. What are your thoughts on the matchup?**
**Coach Alex Reed:** Historically, games against Canisius are always hard fought, physical battles. They’re a well-coached team that won’t back down. We need to be prepared for a tough, physical contest and stick to our game plan.
**We saw some exciting new faces on the ice this season. What are some of the key players fans should be watching?**
